Why am I offering these Prints?

1) This fall, I made the realization that I've been creating personal photographic work for 25 years.  These images were created in 1997 and 2022.  They represent bookends, so to speak, and are the first time I've celebrated a milestone in this way...  

2) I'm also using these prints to help offset cost for my first photobook, a long term project documenting the life and work of two blacksmiths on the west coast.  I spent 3 separate weeks photographing/filming this fall, while imbedded with them in Cave Junction, Oregon (in their communal living/working situation) and at a forge in Oakland, California. The project began as simply documentation of them repairing a 100 year old Beaudry power hammer, but quickly expanded into themes apparent in their life/lifestyle: living outside the lines, living simply, living apart from consumerism and conspicuous consumption. These are topics I've found myself fascinated with in my adult life, and as I grew to know them I felt like it was the perfect story to be told for my first photobook. The end result will be published by my label/imprint (The Garrote) and will be accompanied by a documentary film.  Your print purchase will support this project and help offset travel and living expenses for the next chunks of time I'll spend with them in Oregon and Seattle.
